Registration You can register for any of our dog training classes by mailing or faxing the enrollment form to us. You can also enroll online. You will receive confirmation of enrollment either via email, on the phone or at the time of adoption. It may take us up to one week to confirm your enrollment.
Class sizes are limited. You must register in advance for all classes. Payment is required at time of enrollment to reserve a space in class. Cash, check and credit cards are accepted for in-person enrollments, credit card or check for mail enrollments, credit card only for fax and online enrollments.
Refund Policy Once you have been enrolled in the class, the fee is only refundable if you cancel in writing 7 days before the class starts. (Enrollments within 7 days of the class are not eligible for refunds for any reason.) If you adopt from us and return the dog, your fees are not refundable for any reason. In addition, if you do not provide a written cancellation with at least 7 days notice, no refund will be given. Clients who adopt from us are not eligible for refunds unless they show proof in writing that they attended classes elsewhere.

Orientations The first class of Puppy Kindergarten, Basic Obedience I, Small Dog I, Bully Basics and Wallflowers are orientations. You do not bring your puppy or dog to this class. We will go over all the basics at that class and let you know what you need to bring to your next class. You must attend this orientation to be able to continue in this class. You will forfeit your fee if you do not come to this class. Please bring to the orientation proof of at least 2 DHLPP vaccinations for puppies and a current rabies vaccination for all dogs over 4 months of age. You must present your proof of vaccination at the first class in order to continue.
Class Locations
- Oakland classes are held at the Oakland SPCA at 8323 Baldwin Street off Hegenberger.
- Dublin classes are held at the Tri Valley SPCA at 4651 Gleason Drive off Hacienda.
- Please stop by the front desk at either location befor the first class.
We reserve the right to decline enrollment. In order to protect all participants in a class, we reserve the right to decline entry to any dog who presents behavior issues. Our instructor will speak with you privately to determine if another class or private session would be appropriate.
Cancellations We require at least a minimum number of people per class. If that minimum is not met 2 days before the class, the class will be cancelled. We will contact you 2 days before the class was going to begin to notify you of the cancellation. You will have the option of enrolling in an alternative class, receiving credit toward a future class, or receiving a full refund.
Families with Dogs Because having and training a dog is a family affair, we encourage family members and kids to come to class with the handler. However, it is important that some guidelines be followed with regard to children.
- Children must under parental control at all times.
- No running and yelling in the classroom.
- Tell your children that not all dogs are friendly towards children and therefore they should obtain the owners permission before approaching another dog.
- It is not uncommon for children to get bored during class. Please bring quiet toys or activities to keep them entertained.
- Handlers must be at least 13 years of age.
Fees Group Classes All group series classes are $125 for 4 or 5 classes.
If you adopted from any animal shelter or rescue group, the fee is reduced to $75. You must provide proof of adoption at the time of enrollment and/or at the first class.
Group Drop In Classes Drop In Classes are $20 per class. Advance registration is not required.
Private Classes Private on site classes are $65 per hour. Private classes in the privacy of your own home are $100 per hour.
