We exist because of your generous support. We are funded entirely by donations and fees from our affordable services. Our services are heavily subsidized by donors. In 2006, we provided over 8,000 affordable spay and neuter surgeries in the East Bay, including more than 1,500 at no cost or greatly reduced. Addtionally, we do not recover with adoption fees the cost of having an animal in our care:

• Each dog finding a temporary home in our shelter will cost an average of over $300 for medical care, food, shelter and training. Long term dogs (over 60 days) will cost over $1,000 per dog.
• Each cat finding a temporary home in our shelter will cost an average of over $225. Long term cats will cost twice as much.
• Senior animals, because they are less desirable to most adopters, and because they are with us longer and require greater medical care, cost even more.

Through your generosity we are able to maintain multiple adoption locations throughout the community, provide affordable spay and neuter services to reduce pet overpopulation, provide medical care for animals in the shelter, encourage responsible pet ownership in the community, and provide training, grooming and socialization to shelter animals while in our care.

• Donate an automobile - That automobile cluttering up your driveway can provide services for dozens of animals during their stay with us.
• Donate a Dog Bed - Keep our dogs cozy during their stay in our shelter.
• Wish List - View the items, small and large, that we are in greatest need of obtaining.

Purchasing items for yourself:

• Participate in the My Mutt Program - Your dog or cat will become famous, with his own 4' x 6' professionally photographed advertisement, while your donation works to help more homeless animals.
• Buy EBSPCA Merchandise - All the profits go to the East Bay SPCA, and you get some terrific items that promote the organization in return.

Support us with your time!

• Volunteer - Provide direct services to the animals, support our administration, or become involved with mobile adoptions.
• Support our events - Whether it is a party, an art exhibit or a bike race, your attendance helps!
