Last Free Shot Fair was Saturday, June 17th!

Our shot fair in February, despite the rain, was a terrific success. In the three and a half hours that we set up, we helped:
- Over 200 clients and 276 pets.
- Gave 91 feline vaccines and 378 canine vaccines.
- Microchipped 145 pets and over 60 of those were free pit bulls.
- Signed up 49 pets for free spay/neuter appointments.
- Exchanged dozens of chains for flat collars and leashes. SEE BELOW...
- Donated crates to those canine owners in need.
- Provide new leash control techniques and assistance.
This large task would not have been possible if it were not for the dedicated hardwork (and for sticking it out through the rain) of our staff, EBSPCA volunteers, FOFAS volunteers, BAD RAP volunteers, and especially our Spanish speaking volunteers who were kept very busy all day.
The next shot fair is September 17 from 11:30-2:30 at the East Bay SPCA Oakland Spay and Neuter Surgery Center at 410 Hegenberger Road.
Remember that you can also contact the East Bay SPCA Oakland Veterinary Clinic at 8323 Baldwin Street, for drop-in low-cost shots and microchips. Drop-in clinic hours are 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon, and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Contact one of our two Spay and Neuter Surgery Centers for low cost surgeries (or free, for Pit Bulls or feral cats) at 510-639-7387 (Oakland) or 925-479-9674 (Dublin).
If you'd like to volunteer, or provide financial support for the next Shot Fair, please let us know.
We also need leashes to provide to our shot fair clients. Maybe people show up with chains, ropes, or even towels as leashes for there dogs. We want to be able to give them an appropriate collar and leash. We have plenty of collars, but need more leashes. If you can donate a leash or the funds to buy some leashes, we would appreciate it. Email volunteer@eastbayspca.org if you can help with getting leashes.
