Our mission:

The East Bay SPCA is committed to the welfare of cats and dogs in the communities we serve. We strive to eliminate animal cruelty, neglect and overpopulation by providing programs and education that support people and companion animals.

Did you know that the East Bay SPCA is an independent, privately funded organization, and here in Oakland since 1874? There is no umbrella "SPCA" organization (the ASPCA is an animal shelter in New York City). Thanks to all our donors and supporters that make our life saving and life changing work possible!

February 28th is World Spay Day!
We’re offering FREE spay and neuter surgeries for Pit Bulls, Chihuahuas and Cats to qualified residents of Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. Learn more.

For just $5 you can join East Bay SPCA’s “Drive to Thrive” campaign by purchasing a valentine for one of our shelter animal guests!

Donate a Kuranda Bed for an animal in our shelter this Valentine's season!
