Spay/Neuter

All spay/neuter surgeries are available by appointment only. To request an appointment, you must meet the requirements listed below and create a profile in our patient portal.

Our Oakland Spay/Neuter Center is open. Our Dublin Spay/Neuter Center is currently closed.

We are experiencing a high volume of client appointment requests and appointment availability may be limited. Our spay/neuter surgeries are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in ensuring a smooth and organized process for all appointments.

Spay/Neuter Requirements

Deposit

A $120 deposit is required to schedule a surgery

Age

Dogs must be 6 months to 6 years old. Cats must be 4 months to 6 years old.

Weight

All animals must be 4 to 120 lbs.

Pet Ownership

You have owned your pet for a minimum of 30 days and if microchipped MUST provide proof that your animal is registered to you

Medical History

Your animal must be healthy. It can not have underlying medical conditions such as:

  • Heart murmurs
  • History of seizures
  • Medication allergies
  • Previous abdominal surgery
  • Known MDR1 carrier
  • Contagious ailments (oral papilloma, ringworm, upper respiratory infection, etc.)

If your pet has a medical condition not listed above, please email us before scheduling to determine if they qualify to have surgery done at our Spay/Neuter Center. If your pet does not meet the requirements for surgery at our Spay/Neuter Center, you must have the surgery done at either your regular veterinary clinic or our Theodore B.     Check-in/Pick Up Times

    Individuals who have not arrived by 20 minutes after their check-in time will be considered a no-show. There is a $50 late fee for animals picked up after 5 p.m.

    Large dogs (over 40 lbs.): Arrive at 7:15 a.m. Pick up between 3:30 p.m.-5 p.m.
    Small dogs (under 40 lbs.): Arrive at 7:45 a.m. Pick up between 4 p.m.-5 p.m.
    Cats: Arrive at 8:15 a.m. Pick up between 4:30 p.m.-5 p.m.

    Cancellation Policy

    If you must cancel and/or reschedule your appointment, we ask that you give us at least a 24-hour notice from the surgery date. Please note that you will forfeit your deposit as a booking fee if we receive less than 24-hour notice, you do not show up to the appointment, or the details in the confirmation email are not followed which prevents us from proceeding with surgery.

    To save time the morning of surgery, please print and complete the forms at home and bring them with you on your pet’s surgery day.
