2009 Volunteer Information Sessions and Training

Here is information on our volunteer info session and training classes for 2009.



General Information

Information Sessions and trainings are held at both of our Adoption facilities each month. You may register and attend at either location, even if you plan on volunteering at the other. The Sign-up link will become available 2 weeks prior - spots fill up quick!


2009 Volunteer Information Session Schedule:

Potential volunteers should plan on staying for the entire session. The Info Session will cover the history of the organization, our philosophy of animal care and rescue, our community commitment and information and schedules for available volunteer positions. There are no orientations held Dublin in July or December.

  • You must register to attend the Info Session by clicking the date's link. (Links do not become active until 2 weeks prior.)
  • All volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to the Info Session and Training Classes.
  • Please do not bring children with you unless they are there to learn about our opportunities for kids (over age 10). Please read our section on Kids and Volunteering.
  • Please plan on being present for 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Information Sessions will be marked FULL when the class reaches capacity. If you have missed the opportunity this month, please read more on other ways you can help.

Oakland:

  • Sunday, July 5 @ 2pm - FULL
  • Saturday, August 1 @ 2pm

Dublin:

  • No July Orientation
  • Sunday, August 2 @ 2pm

2009 Shelter Basics Volunteer Training

This class is required to be a Dog and/or Cat Volunteer.

  • You must have attended an Information Session or Volunteer Orientation to attend this class. Sign-ups take place at Information Session. Please call 925-479-9670 x308 or email volunteer@eastbayspca.org to sign up if you have not done so already.


2009 Cat Caretaker Training:

This class is required to become a Cat Caretaker:

  • The schedule for the Cat Caretaker Volunteer Training is given at the "Shelter Basics" training class. Please contactthe Volunteer Department for more information.


2009 CanineCompanion Training:

This class is required to become a Canine Companion Volunteer and/or Dog Groomer:

  • The schedule for the Canine Companion Volunteer Training is given at the "Shelter Basics" training class. Please contactthe Volunteer Department for more information.
