Volunteer Program

The EBSPCA is currently evaluating and improving our volunteer process.  During the next few months, we will not be accepting new volunteers.  Please check-back in for updates and to sign-up in September for new opportunities.  Thanks for your patience!

Volunteers are a key part of our operations and we could not exist without their tireless giving.  We recognize the valuable roles volunteers play and are committed to providing thorough, hands-on training and ongoing support to every volunteer. We ask that each volunteer agree to volunteer with us for a minimum of 6 months, serving at least 8 hours each month

It is important that every person volunteering for the East Bay SPCA be well trained for the tasks they are asked to do and educated in the procedures that ensure our animals', staff and volunteers' safety. If you are interested in volunteering for this organization, there are several steps that must be taken prior to receiving a volunteer assignment. Please note that it can take 1-2 months to become an "official" volunteer once you begin the process.  If you know in advance that it will be difficult to fulfill this commitment, please consider other options (on the upper-left menu check out the "Other Ways You Can Help" and/or "Foster Care").  Hopefully your time with us will be enjoyable and rewarding enough that you will stay with us for many years!

Information on volunteering between the ages of 10 and 17

We look forward to your involvement with our organization. In addition to a little cat or dog hair on your clothes, you will go home with the knowledge that your efforts made a difference in the life of a homeless cat or dog in your community.
